Intensive driving courses can be a time saving way to learn to drive and although a structured course over several weeks is the preferred option, many people wish to concentrate their efforts into the shortest possible time, often due to family and work commitments.

No matter what your driving experience or requirements are we can help you choose the right course.

If you wish to start an intensive course please be aware that you cannot sit your practical test at the end of it unless you have passed your theory test. We are able to book your theory for you but sometimes the dates available do not suit the period your intensive course is booked for so it is better if you can have your theory done before your course begins.

You will be given several Mock Driving Tests leading up to your practical test and these will have supporting fault analysis and written feedback so that you can focus and maximise your learning by concentrating on areas you need to work more on. Your instructor will also tell you if you are ready to sit a test sooner than originally anticipated. On selected courses any lessons not used may be carried forward once you are through test and used against the Pass Plus course.

Intensive courses require a deposit to be paid at time of booking and the balance to be paid no less than one month before the course is due to begin. If you are booking your course with less than a month to go before it starts you will have to pay the full amount. Intensive course deposits are non-refundable and we are unable to allow for any cancellations throughout the course itself.

on board training will be able to book your test in advance for you but also reserves the right to cancel the test (within the time limit so that you will not lose your test fee) if it is felt you will not have reached the required standard in the pre-arranged timescale. If the test is cancelled by the DSA for any reason, on board training are not liable for your refund.

I want it all and I want it now!

Absolute beginners course – a 50 hour course for people who have never driven but need to get their licence in a short space of time with theory and practical tests included. (Can be taken over 2 - 4 weeks if required.) - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

I want it all. Quickly!

Confident Beginners 1 week course - a 42 hour course plus test for people who have passed their theory and possibly taken some of our under-age/off road lessons or had a little shot with a relative or partner and want to get their licence in the school holidays or the week or two they take off work! - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

I’m rusty and in a hurry!

Intermediate learner -a 30 hour course for people who have a bit of experience but haven’t driven for a while and want to get it done and dusted! - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

I’ve been jogging along nicely but want to race to the finish!

Experienced learner - 25 hour course – for people who have had a chunk of hours already on a weekly basis but want to move it up a notch and get through test. - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

I want to jump in with both feet and get it done before I can change my mind!

Serial Learner – a 20 hour course plus test for people who have passed their theory and been taking driving lessons on and off for ages, racking up the hours with gaps in between but not taken that final plunge and sat the test! - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

Re-test Learner – a 10 hour course for people who just failed by the skin of their teeth in the last month and are determined not to fail again! - Cost of course from £22/hr (+ test fees)

All of our intensive courses can be booked and paid over the phone by debit or credit card (credit cards incurr 5% fee - debit cards no additional fees applied).

All our courses require a £100 non-refundable deposit (+ test fees) at time of booking and full course requires to be paid one month before the start date to ensure your instructors time is booked. Once your intensive course is booked it is non-refundable. If you cancel any hours of your intensive course you will lose the fee for that time and if you have not completed the required number of hours to reach test standard then we reserve the right to withdraw use of our car for the test.

Please note – All our courses are designed to help you achieve a pass on your driving test and once you have had your training we will be presenting you for test with the best possible chance of doing so.
